......babies and bbq.....

......since I have been on the subject of friendship this week, it was perfect timing that a family get together with babies and BBQ was planned with one of my oldies, but goodies.....

......Ken and I spent every waking hour together our senior year of high school....

Boca Raton Highschool fall pep rally, 1992

......as the spirit leaders of our school during our senior year, we planned pep rally events, orchestrated dress up days and rallied participation for sporting events.....it was a thrilling time in our young and naive lives......but we established memories and a friendship that would endure over the years.....

.....and as life has become richer and fuller, we schedule our get togethers so we can enjoy spending lazy Saturdays with our families.....

......and our beautiful new babies.....Nina was the big hit, not only with her Daddy, but with our girls too......

.....Elsie was so excited to hand Nina her gift.....and even more excited to show her the fabulous hair accessories that awaited inside.....

......Nina didn't like Elsie's hands all over her new headbands......so with that, we packed up the older girls and headed out to Ken and Jessica's backyard......just on the other side of the Hudson River, they have a gorgeous view of the NYC skyline....

......and a great playground to work up an appetite.....

....and when swings and slides had taken their toll, there is nothing like coming back to hot burgers, creamy potato salad, roasted dogs and juicy watermelon.....

.......and it was right when Callie finally took a break from inhaling watermelon that Stefan whispered to me, I can't believe we are the ones who brought the watermelon......

......Callie wasn't the only thing covered in the sweet, red and sticky glaze......the entire patio needed a bath, just like my two girls.....

.....and Nina was making a yummy mess herself.....

.....although enjoying her meal inside, she had two visitors that also covered the screen with their sticky mark.......

.....and after the girls were rinsed, bubbled, lathered and dried, we felt like we had extended our warm welcome.....but just one photograph before we made our departure.....

.....it took about 10 tries to get the picture right and we had a lot of laughs in the attempts by Stefan and Ken to do so.....

.......until we finally got it right......and captured the smiles, the excitement and the happiness of friendship......

......here's to a weekend of old friends, good conversation, delicious meals and the last few weeks of summer....

.....Ken and Jessica, thank you for your hospitality and graciousness.....I'm glad the rain this week washed away our remains on your patio.....xoxo

......Happy Friday........
