.....savoring.....

......just a quick stop off, as we are prepping for family......our first visitors as residents of the state of CT.....the carpet in this apartment is speckled with remnants of breakfast, the laundry for the week is piled everywhere and I'm still a sweaty mess from test driving cars all morning.....yes, I am getting thrown into suburbia quickly because it is apparent that I need a bus in order to accommodate our own posse and the friends who also need rides for play dates, carpools, etc.....and I must admit, I don't look so bad behind the wheel of a mini van......ouch.....it actually hurts to type that.....moving on.....

....we have been thoroughly enjoying the access to the beach in our cozy little town......Friday after school proved a spontaneous pit stop that had the kids swimming in water up to their waist, meeting new friends, making princess stew in small pot holes filled with barnacles, clam shells and sea weed and getting covered from head to toe in east coast sand.....

.....there is nothing like the grainy, rocky sand to remind me that we are in a new kind of place with new kinds of memories.....

....and the frequency of oceanside time has been one of the best things about this new town we now call home.....

....the girls play in their imaginary world and Brody and I hang out and watch the sisters make new friends and squeal with glee.....it's been so heart warming to watch all three of them acclimate to our new setting.....

....I love it here.....we all love it here.....

....this is the perfect place for our family in this phase of our life.....

.....and Stefan and I even made last Tuesday night date night in the city.....

.....the Lion King was better than I had anticipated and I had high expectations......the music is moving and we graciously accepted a gift from someone who generously insisted we take her tickets....

....Cheers, Denise......

...your faithfulness, humor and compassion for others is an inspiration.....may your faith in Him ring true to many through your amazing way to connect with others......thank you....

....and yes, when I am in the city, I miss it desperately....

....although less than an hour away, I also feel like we get the best of both worlds....

....so for now, we will take full advantage of our temporary backyard.....

....we are enjoying the last warm days of watching sailboats, fishermen and taking boardwalk runs....

.....and I am highly anticipating another move next month....

....it wouldn't quite be a complete week if I didn't do my ritual of driving by and then day dreaming.....

....our fall will be full and our Thanksgiving will be abundant with grateful hearts as we feast and start new traditions in our new home.....and although there are small glimpses of fall, it is still a week or two away.....

.......this October has been hot......however, to our family flying in from Dallas; it will most likely feel like fall to them.....if we are lucky, the temps may dip to the 60s to give us a real treat.....but yes, we will pick apples in the 80 degree heat, visit Central Park searching for red, orange and yellow hues and insist that fall appear through our traditions......

....and we may just have to visit the beach too.....

....because soon enough the beach days will be long gone as a new season is before us.......

....happy weekend....off to savor and inhale a long weekend with loved ones.....
