.....sisterhood.....

.....I asked Elsie the other day if Callie was her best friend.....no, Mommy.....Callie is my sister and sisters can't be best friends too......

....this was after I overheard the two of them getting dressed while I made their breakfast; both girls laughing at the idea of trading clothes for our activities that day....Callie skipping out in a dress a bit too long and Elsie following her in a dress that was way too short.......running toward me in the kitchen, Momma! Momma! Look, we are sharing our dresses! Isn't that silly???

.....they have been playing so well together lately.....smiling and laughing at one another, solving disagreements without a cat fight, reading books to one another after lights out and showing each other affection in sweet ways, just as best friends do....

....someday both girls will know that sisters can be best friends......

.....just as best friends can also be sisters.....

....November marks the month of many fabulous things.....Elsie's birthday, fall in NYC, Thanksgiving, visits from family and friends and the Macy's Day parade, just to name a few.....but it also marks the time for an annual reunion of three old friends who set aside a weekend in Philadelphia to spend quality time together talking, laughing, eating and celebrating many, many years of friendship....

.....and did I mention that we laugh?....

....laughing hysterically and posing with my Farrah Fawcett hair.....this was a blow out gone real, real bad.....

....this picture shows it better....and it made for can't breathe, tears streaming down the face, stomach is sore type of laughing.....

....you see, I am rejuvenated by my girlfriends.....we talk so much over this weekend that our voices grow hoarse and we return to our families with the question of, why does your voice sound funny, Momma?.....we gush about our children, seek advice on issues in our families, rehash stories that we missed during phone conversations throughout the year, celebrate upcoming events, and encourage one another through it all.....

....not to mention, we can still take on the nightlife just like the college days.....

....almost....

....but when we all return home, we have perspective....we have a greater appreciation for where we are in our lives....we are validated, uplifted, and more knowledgeable because we learn from one another......it's a weekend I hope we do for years to come, even if our nightlife turns into bridge or a canasta game in the hotel room......it's the perfect way to kick off Fall and the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring right behind it....

.....but for now, autumn is here......

....and the season I love is just beginning in Central Park.....

.....and Fall brings celebration with friends full circle....

....toddler music class in our building for indoor fun as the weather chills.....

.....and tis the season for colorful changes outside and also in our home....

.....Look who started sitting up all by himself....Brody Austin, almost 7 months....11/11/11

.....we have more quality time planned with old friends this weekend....looking forward to more appreciation this time of year for the ones who are important in our lives.....

.....leaving you with this....
