.....water parks before Montauk starts....

.....Elsie's art class just had it's last session.......Thursday morning playgroup just finished for the summer and Callie's music class has been over for several weeks now.....
......this has been our first week where we have had no schedule.....and I wanted it that way.....

....sure it's tempting to think about swim classes and jungle gym for toddlers......but the more I thought about it, I decided I wanted this summer to be slow moving......no rushing out the door, no babysitter arranging to get the one on one time with each girl for her class, not having to take a shower and blow dry my hair at 11pm once the dishes are clean and the toys are picked up just so I don't have bed head the next morning for my kid's class.....

.......I have a summer list to tackle.....

.....and before I know it, my girls will be in school and I will long for the days that we could pack up and head to the water park with friends.....

.....I'm so glad that my girls love the outdoors, love to get wet, splash around and love the sunshine.....it's a perfect match for beach days and a long family vacation in Florida this July.....

.....but a morning at the water park isn't quite perfect unless you have some watermelon to go with it.....before I had a chance to snap a photo of the succulent snack, the only trace of it was all over Elsie's mouth......

......and thank you, Bambi for the matching swim suits.....maybe we couldn't use them in Florida in February, but we will get plenty of use out of them this weekend at the beach......

.....ahh.....Montauk, NY.......just east of the Hamptons.......the sound of the ocean crashing into the sand is calling us.....the pool, the BBQs, the playgrounds, the tent perched along the sea grassed horizon to provide our shade from the hot, blazing sun.......it's all planned and we are leaving at the crack of dawn.......I have everything packed, I have groceries scheduled to be delivered to our adobe to sustain our taste buds for 3 days and I have my expectations set high for this family getaway......boy do we need it.....the girls need it, I need it and Daddy needs it......Montauk always succeeds at blowing away expectations.....the Long Island beaches are a haven during the summer for us New Yorkers.....

.....and next week we will be home.....back at our favorite parks with our favorite friends........and everything is always better with our friends.....even saying goodbye to fun.....

......but we have many lazy, long days ahead to look forward to friends and fun.....just the way summer should be.....and just the way I want it.....
